This is the research I have done with my family's help starting with my grandfather who, before he died in  1971, wanted to know more about his ancestry. My mother passed most of his correspondence and  research on to me and I went from there. I started in 1994 when my daughter was born because I wanted  to have something to pass on to her. I have been slacking for the past few years, but have a renewed  interest as a result of a new wireless laptop, an upgraded genealogy program and so much more  information available online. I have traveled many places to get information that is now accessable with  the stroke of a key.
